About The Author...

indie author

Mark Peter Evans

Mark Peter Evans is a writer who mainly works with performance. By focusing on techniques and materials, Evans tries to focus on the activity of presenting. The character, shape or content of the presented writing is secondary. The essential things are the momentary and the intention of presenting. His performances appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. Time and memory always play a key role. By applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, he wants to amplify the astonishment of the spectator by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that leave traces and balances on the edge of recognition and alienation. His works are notable for their perfect finish and tactile nature. This is of great importance and bears witness to great craftsmanship. By replaying the work for each exhibition and pushing the evocative power of the work a little further, he considers making writing a craft which is executed using clear formal rules and which should always refer to social reality. His works are presented with the aim not to provide an idealistic view but to identify where light and the environment are important. The energy of a place and its emotional and spiritual vibrations are always important. Mark was born in 1969 in the town of Wrexham, North Wales, United Kingdom, and spent his childhood living and growing up in the village of Afoneitha. Mark attended Penycae and Grango school Rhos Wrexham. Mark started writing from an early age. He first knew he could write after being commended by his English teacher at the age of thirteen for the short story he had written. However, the author decided to work full time and leave his writing career until he felt the time was right. His claim to fame was with Sir Tim Rice many years ago when he sent some material for some feedback. Mark recently got married to his wife Julie. They both live in Jersey, Channel Isles. Mark Currently works for Waitrose, part of the John Lewis Partnership. Mark enjoys spending time with family, visiting family in stunning North Wales, listening to all sorts of music, relaxing when he is not writing. Mark also enjoys beach walks and enjoying the fantastic scenery that the island of Jersey has to offer.
