Juliet's Journey by Kathy Gates

Juliet Carlsen has left her home in Australia and travelled to the tiny northern Italian village of Baiardo. On face value she is there to volunteer at an art school; in reality she is trying to get over the death of her mum. Though nervous about moving so far out of her comfort zone, she soon finds friendship in the serene surroundings; maybe even love. That is until someone from her past shows up and threatens not only her new-found peace but also the very soul of the place she has come to love.

Kathy Gates

Kathy Gates loves three things: travel, reading about travel and making up stories about travel.

Born and raised in Sydney, Kathy lives in Hobart – it’s like Sydney but smaller and the food and wine are better. Plus everything is close, including some of the best walking tracks.

Until January 2015 Kathy worked in marketing where she enjoyed making up stories; writing travel fiction seemed an obvious career move.

Kathy published her novella, Juliet’s Journey in July 2015. Juliet’s Journey is set in the northern Italian village of Baiardo where the heroine, Juliet, has gone for some piece and quiet but falls in love with the place and finds herself caught up in a fight to save the village from losing its soul.

Her current work in progress is a series of three novellas set in Rome, one of her favourite cities.
