The Canduit Project by doddelbacke

indie ebook cover

The Canduit Project provides a glimpse into the near future when a giant rock from outer space threatens to destroy all life forms on our planet. A group of brilliant people with the help of some enlightened billionaires managed to build the necessary equipment to deflect the monster rock.
An electromagnetic space-craft launching tunnel, a rotating space station and a moon base were built. During the construction of the moon-base a fair-sized underground lake was discovered. This lake, now known as Lake Surprise, has since become the ultimate tourist attraction. When the Terminator, as it was called, returned the deflection crew was ready and managed to give it a good kick in the butt, which propelled it into a save orbit. The collective near death experience caused mankind to elevate itself to a higher level of consciousness.
All of a sudden people realized our tendency to make wars would only lead to our destruction. Therefore wars were outlawed and a new golden age began; mankind started to work together like never before. Clear cutting of forests was not permitted any more and trees were planted all over the planet. Giant airships were built to allow the general public to fly around the world and drink in the beauty of our planet. Space tourism became quite common and Lake Surprise received top markings, as did trips to the rotating space station; and no doubt to see our planet from above is a very emotional experience.
On the moon professor Bernstein was in charge of the industrial installations. His coworkers called him Twelvestein because he was twelve times as smart as Einstein. This had something to do with his mother's diet during her pregnancy. He invented various spacecraft-drives and eventually a time machine. With this remarkable invention he explored our past and I was privileged to come along. This experience can only be described as far out.
There are a lot of interesting ideas in this book and it is very enjoyable to read. Werner

About The Author...

indie author

Hi! I was born in Germany in 1931 and grew up during Hitler's insane war. This proved to be a bit of a drag with all the air-raids we had to endure. That lunatic sure caused a lot of suffering. In 1945 I started my apprenticeship as an industrial electrician and in due time received my ticket. Jobs were hard to get and eventually I decided to look for greener pastures in Canada. This turned out the best decision I ever made and I wouldn't want to live in any other country. I worked myself across the country and finally settled on Vancouver Island. There I met this cute little redhead and eight weeks later we got married. Eventually we bought five acres, developed a small homestead, built a sawmill (Bellsaw) and raised two girls and one boy. We also built a small cabin on the shores of Lake Cowichan. In the summer the whole family goes there on weekends; it is fun to watch our six grandchildren diving and swimming in the lake. I worked in a local sawmill as an electrician till 1981 when the mill shut down. By that time we had quite a bit of money saved up, which combined with my severance pay allowed us to live in comfort, without any frills of course. To be truly happy we just have to limit our desires. Of course we had large gardens and didn't have to spend much money on food. In the meantime our three offsprings left, the gardens are only 50% the size we had before, but we are still pretty well feeding ourselves. Besides happily playing in my large "sand-box" I managed to publish three books: Rimwood Tales, my autobiography, The Canduit Project, a positive timeline for mankind and Gedichte im zwei Finger Tact, poems in German. Since I grew up during a world-war I always hoped that we would overcome our tendency to start them but it hasn't happened; but where there is life there is hope.
