Reverse Metamorphosis, book 1 of the Irrevocable Change trilogy by Robert Schobernd
"Irrevocable Change", The Evolution of An Assassin, is a trilogy character study chronicling the life of a professional killer. Book one is Reverse Metamorphosis, book two is The Assassin Evolves and book three is The Devil's Homecoming. The series is a Crime/Thriller genre.Other Formats...
These stories are not in the Mystery and Detective genre. The tale captures the life of Clayton Albrecht from the age of twenty-one to his death. As such, there is no mystery, but there are plenty of surprises. It is not a detective novel because the detectives are incidental to the story only because of their interactions to catch the assassin.
What is the reader meant to take away from this? The main point of the trilogy is the interactions of a person of extreme violence with his family members and friends. While love for his close family members is a driving force of Clayton's life, he is unprepared for the conflict and wholesale chaos his deadly career submits them to.
In the execution of his contracts, Clayton sometimes strikes silently from mere inches, or his presence is announced by the report of a rifle or a bomb. Sometimes he knows little about his target, but on other occasions he become friends with his prey and even strives to 'get inside their heads" before he kills them.
PLEASE NOTE! This is a story of EXTREME VIOLENCE by crude and dangerous individuals. If cursing, murder, torture, rape and incest offend you, DON'T READ MY STORY.
I hope you enjoy it. Robert Schobernd
About The Author...
Hi, my name is Bob Schobernd. I publish my writing as Robert Schobernd.
I primarily write in the crime category. My crime stories started with a trilogy character study detailing an assassin’s rise and fall. The trilogy title is Irrevocable Change and the individual books are: Reverse Metamorphosis, The Assassin Evolves, and The Devil's Homecoming. These stories are about coarse criminals and focus on the life experiences of an assassin and how his actions affect his family and friends.
The first series I’ve written is the Carter A. Johnson novels. They depict a vigilante who invokes double jeopardy on criminals he determines to be guilty. The first story is, The Blonde Heiress, a novella length introduction to the series. The second novel is The Dogtrot Murder. That story follows the prison internment of a wife convicted of killing her husband and Carter’s efforts to free her. The third story in the series is Cape Abigail, and its setting is the coast of Maine. Here Carter is joined by Kate Menke the prisoner in The Dogtrot Murder.
As a change of genre, I published a short (15,000 words) very dark thriller/horror story, titled 59 Hours. I’ll give you a hint; some people bloom, wilt and die in fifty nine hours.
In the near future I plan to continue with additional crime stories and also pursue other stories in the thriller/horror genre.
Thank you, I hope you enjoy my stories,
