Kings of the World by Matt Pike

| The galaxy is on the brink of war and only four dysfunctional, hormone-driven teenagers from Earth stand in its way. God help us all.
It didn’t take Cooper long to come to the conclusion that space sucks. It seems everyone there despises humans, everything’s too far away and the travel makes you heave. Worse still, Cooper’s stuck there with his best mate, The Ginge – who can’t tell where games end and reality begins - and two other former classmates who want to beat the crap out of him.
Oh yeah, and people, well… alien people are trying to kill them.
Space does have some good points. The boys can have anything they wish for, all they have to do is ask it … or think it. Plus they are now, somehow, Earth’s leaders - as in, more important than the President of the USA.
If Cooper can only stop the other boys from gorging on their every desire, chasing the most human looking alien women and fighting each other, he might convince everyone that humans aren’t the galactic equivalent of white trash.
But things are about to get a whole lot worse. War looms and Cooper and his inept sidekicks are caught in the middle. They, the Earth and the Galaxy will never be the same again.

About The Author...
Matt Pike

I’m probably unhealthily obsessed with games, sci-fi, comedy and fantasy football competitions. I somehow managed to rip myself away from all of the above long enough to write a book - I know - I can't believe it either!
Kings of the World is my first novel. I have decided to ePublish to share it with the world and to help raise money to find a cure for Rett Syndrome. Part proceeds from all sales of this book – and all future books I write - will be donated to charities looking for a cure for Rett Syndrome. There is some fantastic and positive research taking place around the world that leaves people with the hope that there will be revolutionary changes to how we treat the condition in lifetime.
For those not familiar, Rett syndrome is a rare but serious neurological disorder that affects about 1 in 9,000 girls. It affects their ability to walk, talk and use her hands in any meaningful way.
As a parent of a child with Rett Syndrome it is difficult to know how to contribute to cause, beyond staying positive and caring for the needs of your child. The syndrome and its symptoms are complex. I find writing a good escape and my wish is that I find enough success with my passion to help contribute to the greater cause of finding a cure for Rett Syndrome.
I am currently finishing the first draft of my second work, a post-apocalyptic piece set in suburban Australia, which is due out later this year. On completion I’m bouncing back to the Kings of the World universe to pen the sequel…. Oh, I can’t wait!
