Queen of a Kind: Year Two - Blame It on the Reign - Part 1 by Sheila Michelle
Grace Garrett is entering her sophomore year in high school as well as her second year on the job as Beaumont High School’s 20th Queen. After an unforgettable first year, she sees right away before school even starts that her second year is not going to be an ordinary year. She’s still crushing hard on Ace Williamson, but there’s a new boy in her grade at Beaumont and he’s just as rare as she is . . . and he has an instant interest in her. Chase Watts is the world’s wealthiest teen with a personal worth in the billions, and his super-gorgeous looks, tattooed-covered body, and bad-boy personality almost makes him more of a standout than what he’s worth. Every girl wants Chase, but Chase only has eyes for Grace — but she still has a crush on Ace and most importantly, she still can’t date . . . but this doesn’t stop Chase from pursuing her and she knows this and doesn’t know how she feels about it just yet, especially after what she went through her first year.
But Chase is not the only new sophomore Beaumont student. Candy Nelson has transferred to Beaumont, and Grace clearly remembers this name when she was on her journey to becoming Beaumont’s 20th Queen. Once she officially meets Candy, she knows right away that it’s going to be another long year because Candy is determined to show everyone, especially Grace, who should really be Beaumont’s 20th Queen. In addition to this, Grace has to deal with a series of issues like bullying and being used — and she doesn’t know how to handle these things because it was something that she was told about but didn’t think she would have to face as being the most powerful teen in the world. Because of this, she develops a serious case of depression and tries to constantly reassure herself that she’s Beaumont’s 20th Queen, but even she starts to wonder if being it is really worth it after all for a lot of reasons, despite her changing a Beaumont student’s life forever.
