He lives in the small university city of Palmerston North in the North Island of New Zealand and is married with three children.

When he is not writing, Ross enjoys drawing and wandering in the countryside..

Many of his novels reflect his interest in the rural lifestyle as well as the cross section of personalities encountered during his years as a teacher. Starship Human Dawn is only the second deep space starship to evacuate the last residents from a dying Earth in search of a new world in which to live. The first, Human Sunset, went missing generations earlier. 5000 humans are in suspended animation while the vessel travels through post-light speed infinity drive under control of computers. Commander Sophie Copland wakes up in deep space because of an emergency drop to sub-light speed.

After no senior officers are found to be alive, two other junior crew members, Penny who has the ability to 'feel' the truth, and Jack, an electronics expert are awoken. The three find the starship is occupied by of human terrorists who have killed the senior officers and are torturing two benefactors, Daz and Foxin.

The pair are rescued and before the Human Dawn is destroyed they escape in the Dawn Rescue 'lifeboat'. However, the computers have the ability to mutate into advanced forms! Omega Seed Fiction - SciFi

The search of a millennium is over. Computers aboard Inter-galactic Starship Omega find a planet with water and oxygen in usable quantities to sustain humanoid life. It is over populated, polluted and has one social problem; forty eight percent of the human population are males, well beyond the one in a thousand necessary on Planet Delta to maintain the sperm banks.

However, the humanoids aboard cannot be kept alive for the estimated two hundred years required to find another solar system so the journey must end. Minor alterations are needed in the humanoids' metabolism. The women need to understand English for a landing in Australia, the most unpolluted continent the computers can find. Sensations and emotions are changed back to natural; after all, a bearer needs emotions more than the neuter that these females were on the home planet.

It is time to awaken Pazz and prepare her for life on Earth while cloned younger sister Kylina , now 22 not 12 as remembered by Pazz, can be kept in reserve. There is also Lunol, from a primitive preindustrial planet and Kylina's partner but he is male and doesn't count.

Alone, with only an armlet computer for company, Pazz lands in the West Australian desert. She catches the Indian Pacific Express for Sydney, three days journey away but catches the flu virus. With no immunity she becomes seriously ill and is taken off the train at Adelaide. Doctor Duncan Bourne a linguist from the The University Of Adelaide is contacted when nobody can understand her delirious speech. Duncan finds her speaking an ancient dead Greek language that he can understand. After she recovers, they become friends. Pazz adapts to life on Earth and, by having her qualifications entered into Earth computers, becomes Doctor Pazz D'rose, a mathematician and biochemist.

How does this affect Pazz, Kylina and her partner? Is Lunol rescued and how do the military on Earth react to having the alien humans in their midst?

The Truth About Terra Fiction - SciFi

Councillor Zorell Norwell lives in a divided country on the planet of Terra. She is a Pioneer while the opposing government are called Theists. They are humans too but their values and life philosophies are based on ancient superstitions that have been long discarded by the modern society of the North Redstone enclave in which she lives. Nothing can be proved but researchers suggest that the humans come from another world beyond the clouds.

At an emergency council meeting, Zorell is surprised to see a Theist bishop named Cyrano Palas there. Why is an enemy official there? He gives them an ancient script that tells of secret bases that hold the key to their world's history.

Though suspicious of the bishop's reason for giving them the script she sets out with three companions, Evan, Corban and an elderly Lei to find the closest base.
On the way they are surprised by a swarm of gigantic bees that appear to be intelligent. The bees lead Zorell to a Theist village where they rescue a slave girl Anneke. Anneke has befriended the bees who join their expedition and show them the way to the first secret base. Inside there is a hovercraft that is controlled by a computer, something Zorell has never heard of before.

They learn how to operate the hovercraft and set out to find the rest of their ancestors' secrets. However, Palas has anticipated their moves and an army of Theist close in on them. The enemy, though have not counted on Zorell's new ally, the bees or the strange power of the hovercraft itself.

After almost being captured they find they have travelled through time itself back to when their ancestors first arrived on Terra. Now they must find out why their ancestors withheld the truth and the knowledge of modern technology from them all those generations before.

Not one but two worlds that are changed forever by their discoveries and fortitude. But have they unwittingly unleashed a power their ancestors tried to protect them from and is it too late to save humanity?
