Dr Mo thats me !otherwise known as Maria Pertik,RN,Ph.d. I am an expert in stress and use it for success. Since 1979 I have been studying the impact of stress on each developmental stage. My first book STRESS MANAGEMENT AND ME a book for kids ages K - fouth grade is being used in several countries. My latest book soon to be released SHAKING HANDS WITH ALZHEIMERS DISEASE : A GUIDE FOR COMPASSION FOR CAREGIVERS, comes from my personal experience of caring for my mom who is a physician and has Alzheimers. I learned from thousands of caregivers the essential nature of what is most important in the stressful work of caretaking someone at the end of their life. I have traveled and taught all around the world recently returned from India and Ecuador where my book is being used by Peace Corps volunteers with street kids. Stress is a positive motivator and when used with compassion & empathy it is transformational. It opens one to self realization and in turn helps those around them.
