Writing because I have to. Once was a bass player. Once was a punk. Once was many of things. Son of a preacher man and the grandson of a Federal Court judge. A curve breaker. A fool proclaiming his folly. A writer from the edges writing for the opened minded.
Been published by a few literary journals that you never heard of, most likely, and I write novels, short stories, screenplays, graphic novels, comics and poetry. I won't bother you with my tumultuous past, day job, or college CV because you can find who I am in my writing. Ars longa, vitae brevis.

Whispers of Hypnos Unspecified
A potery collection. Inspired by everything from quantum psychics to the sun above, Whisper of Hypnos is a collection of poems influenced by the dreams that wake you up at night and the days where ego and entropy make themselves known.
"Under Synesthesia" was originally published by The Bitter Oleander Press and "Withering depths/dried" was published by Pens on Fire.
An author's mind manifests in the architecture of their work and this collection is no different. It shows a mind preoccupied with the transient nature of reality and the conflicts that consciousness brings.

Blue lips and crayons Fiction - Crime, Mystery
Crane, Virgil and Dan leave the city to go to their suburban childhood home of New Hebron and mourn the death of their friend Drexel who died in a suspicious accident. One other friend is absent at the funeral and the young men go looking for him and find him. His name is Benjamin and he was the rich kid when they grew up. His lips also happen to be stained blue from an accident in high school that connects the beginning and the end. An unresolved grudge haunts the characters and now so does a suspicious accident they find isn't an accident at all.
This is a short story originally published by "The Sylvan Echo" in a modified form. There is a bonus piece of flash fiction included as well. In Blue lips and crayons, friends go home to mourn their friend and find out that more things have changed over time than just themselves.

The Excess Road Fiction - General
In The Excess Road, youth must pay a toll and the path to wisdom starts at the hilltop campus of Wessex College. There you can find a good party but you can also lose your mind like Joaquin Chandler did. He’s an eighteen year old looking for love and his own trail to tread during his freshman year in 1993.
The party scene at Wessex is overwhelming for Joaquin and even though he feels like an outcast the kid makes friends. Then the beautiful Elyssa comes along and his heart sets. The chase for her affection begins with an unsettling event but she enters his life. After an initiation into the grittier reality of college life, Joaquin discovers his new best friend Tim is the campus drug dealer and Elyssa is using him to get drugs. Anxiety attacks and hallucinations begin to haunt Joaquin after a bad LSD trip. His mind and motivation begin to slip away. He tries to find a way to recover and a girl named Dawn begins to pursue Joaquin but he resists her advances. He’s still infatuated with Elyssa.
During the course of the story, Tim’s girlfriend Erin becomes a Meth addict and an investigation into the affairs of an infamous professor is spawned by an intoxicated student leaping off a rooftop. The professor happens to be one of Tim’s clients and is also Joaquin’s teacher. This predicament strains Joaquin and Tim’s relationship. One night, Joaquin is arrested and placed in the Drunk Tank. Soon after, Tim cuts Erin off from drugs so she goes directly to his source, a dealer named Rascal (he’s crippled from a drive by shooting). This makes Erin and Rascal unhappy, really unhappy, and both take actions to deal with this.
Joaquin fights to regain control of his life as the anxiety attacks get worse. Then, at the end, shotgun blasts echo through the hills. A murder/suicide forces Joaquin to makes a choice. Either he stops hallucinating and takes a new direction or his mind is lost.
